Self Care Sunday: Somatics for Your Whole Body - online |
May 22
1:00 - 3:00 pm $50 Online Workshop Re-set your muscle memory and release pent up tension in this blissful two-hour session. Using the slow pandiculations common in a somatics practice, you will melt away tightness and restriction. We will start with the middle of the body (the core) and work into every nook and cranny to create more integration and easeful movement.
Some somatic movement experience would be helpful, but not absolutely necessary. I will be guiding the class assuming you have some knowledge of somatics, sensory-motor amnesia, and pandiculation. The movements are simple enough to follow along. If you cannot make the time of the workshop, no worries. Everyone who signs up for the workshop will receive a video of the session to you to use when you like. |

All the while, I will guide your breathing patterns to enhance the meditative quality of the practice.
You will need 2-3 firm yoga blankets, a strap, an eye-bag, and two yoga blocks (or something similarly sized like a rolled up, rubber banded towel). Dress in cozy layers, and have an empty stomach, If you cannot make the time of the workshop, no worries. Blending a deep awareness of movement, anatomy and physiology, Sue draws on her extensive studies in dance, yoga, Pilates and Hanna Somatics to teach from a place of open-hearted focus! Her instructions include modifications so each participant can tailor their experience to their own history and needs. I leave her highly effective sessions with greater mobility, strength, ease and awareness. She’s a joy to work with! --Jean L. |
