Saturday Active + Restorative Yoga
November 9 & December 14, 2024 10:00 - 12:00 pm - In Studio $50 per session Location: Val’s Fitness Club 5201 SW Westgate Drive Building B, Suite #200 Portland, OR 97221 One building down from Pacific NW Pilates Join Sue once a month on Saturdays for an intermediate level in-person workshop. These sessions will have a good balance of strength and flexibility, along with the more subtle practices of self-awareness, breath and meditation, and a few restorative poses at the end. It does make a difference to have eyes on you in three dimensions, in addition to the pleasure of practicing with others. I cap the attendance to 10 people, so everyone gets personal attention.
Please bring your own yoga props: mat, strap, block, blanket. I will continue to video the first 75 minutes for those who wish to practice at home online, using their regular class package. And, if you prefer to pay via check, just send me an email and I'll let you know where to send it. --photo credit: Conscious Design, Unsplash |

Renew Yourself with Somatics
Sunday, December 8, 2024 12:00 - 1:00 pm - $35 (appropriate for beginners) 12:00-2:00 pm - $55 Location: Val’s Fitness Club 5201 SW Westgate Drive Building B, Suite #200 Portland, OR 97221 One building down from Pacific NW Pilates Join me for a live Somatics workshop! It's really two workshops in one. The first hour will unwind the entire body in all the planes of movement. They correspond to the Red Light Reflex (spinal flexion), the Green Light Reflex (spinal extension) and the Trauma Reflex (side and rotational movements). All will be addressed and balanced. The first hour is appropriate for beginners, and will feature some of the classic, time-tested Somatic Exercises developed by Thomas Hannah.
We will use the second hour to go more deeply into the hips, shoulders and neck. Some somatics experience is suggested for this section. The movements will delve into more complex movement patterns to more deeply unwind our areas of Sensory Motor Amnesia (the brain forgot how to do a movement). Please bring your own yoga mat and a blanket or pillow for under your head. There are two ways to sign up and pay. Email me at [email protected] and pay by check. Or use this PayPal link. Once you get to my page, click “send,” then it asks you to log in. Once you get to the money screen, just type in the amount you want to pay in the format with .00 at the end (i.e. 35.00 or 55.00). www.paypal.me/SueBrantley/ --photo credit: Somatic Movement Center |
Or you can call me at (503) 407-9677. Please see my current Cancellation Policies.
