feedback from clientsDear Sue, After our session on Thursday I went home. As I sat eating my dinner, I realized that for the first time in years, nothing hurt. I was blessedly pain free. I've had some discomfort since then, but my mid-back has remained softer. Friday I had a very full day with clients and my shoulders did not hurt. I was mindful of being a wooden hanger, not a wire one :). Saw my chiropractor today and she is amazed. Your gentle work with my shoulders is really paying off. -- Gratefully, JI |
injury rehab & therapeutic techniquesI have a special interest in using yoga, pilates, somatic exercise, and myofascial release for rehabilitative purposes. I have taken a number of detailed therapeutic courses in all three movement systems. I have been trained by respected physical therapists, yoga therapists, Hanna Somatics specialists, and Rehab Pilates specialists. I also have experience rehabbing my own injuries, including knee surgery, shoulder tendonitis/frozen shoulder, and chronic sacroiliac joint issues.
For rehab, it’s best to start with private sessions. I like to start by taking a detailed history and performing a postural analysis. Then, I will work with you to design a safe, appropriate and effective rehab program. I will work with your doctor or physical therapist to enhance work that has already been assigned, including diagnosis. I created Back Care Basics for Everyone DVD for people with pain issues to use at home. The exercises are gentle and safe--appropriate for a wide variety of circumstances. |
